Jennifer Sands is a Shepherdess living in Zanesville, Ohio on her family’s farm with her Husband and animals. Her family, alongside herself, operate a small grass-fed cattle operation with smaller, adjacent projects undertaken by different members of the Sands’ tribe. Jennifer utilizes her sheep for their yearly wool crop in her art practice as well as for other utilitarian needs.

Sands has a BFA in Fashion Design and Fine arts which has sparked her interest in slow fashion and garment production. Jennifer is an MFA Studio Art graduate from Maryland Institute College of Art. She spends her spare time educating others in her community about the tradition of spinning, weaving, knitting and raising sheep.

"I am very worried about the state of the world right now, not only about our health but also about making my life work financially over the next few months. Like many people I have been laid off due to COVID. Who knows, I may be a grocery store employee soon! Although I know I am not alone, many people are in the same situation. We will all find a way to get through this together." - Jenn Sands
